Donate to the Festival

For 90 years, music teachers, parents and students have participated in the Swift Current Music Festival. By our modest estimations, that could be 50,000 people performing in Festival Classes and that would be even more if all the kids in Band, Choirs, School Music and Speech Arts were counted. Those families have supported the businesses of Swift Current in their everyday lives while striving to give children the wonderful gift of music.

With your support, we can provide a positive experience for all the competitors with friendly, experienced adjudicators, excellent facilities and scholarships for the most accomplished performers.  Our website,, is where the Festival Program, Donors, and other pertinent information is posted. Our Final Awards Program is a great Xtravaganza with special performances.

What is the Music Festival? It is an adjudicated competition open to all ages. In order to receive an adjudication, performing on any type of musical instrument, singing, or speaking in public requires many hours of practice and a lot of courage. Many performers, young and old, feel a real sense of accomplishment and pride when they have taken a bow, received a certificate, and possibly won a scholarship. Conquering the language of music, public speaking, and performing, are life and leadership skills that parents and education systems strive to accomplish. This exposure continues to benefit us as adults in our lives and in the workplace.

In 2018, there were 1409 entrants which included Solos, Band and School entries. We contracted 6 Adjudicators for 10 days at $350.00/day plus lodging and mileage. A sum of $6800.00 was awarded to 121 recipients. Volunteers spent 900 hours accomplishing the tasks of this event. These facts certainly deem this as a worthwhile happening in our community.

Dates are March 11-15, March 18-20, April 15-18, 2019. Let’s make Festival 2019 a smashing success!

We appreciate and thank you for your donations and look forward to your investment in our youth and their passion for the arts.
